#31 - the numbers behind Rollover 2.0

Updated: Mar 29, 2018

When Issue 31, from QA Cycle 3 is cleared, Rollover2 will be available to download from the Wix App Market. Today's post is a little look at some of the numbers behind Rollover 2.0

While that's being fixed up (it's a tiny, edge case issue, don't worry), it gives us a chance to reflect on the journey that's taken us to Issue #31.

The final frontier

When I look back at some of the other technical, UX, UI, and countless other Issues we've worked through and solved, issue 31 almost seems cute.. like the last survivor of a testing onslaught over months, by many hands who have helped get this to today. Who knew it would be so hard. (...that would be me BTW)

August, 2016, We've completed the rollout of Rollover 1.9 - with the addition of 9 Artisan Pack Effects, our app is fresh enough for now. So, we start looking for the next iteration, and find it. Some inspiring sprites we used to model rollover 2.0

At the same time, WIx reveal their UI 2.0, and it fitted. We'd release Rollover 2 with the new FX and the new WI, in time for a Holiday Promotion. Sure. No Problem.

The first designs and a MVP was submitted to Wix in December 2016. Just in time for the holidays, we could kick back knowing we'd made the first deadline and had approval to bring the second version of Rollover to life, in the way that we saw it

That's the number of sites we've installed the beta version of rollover on, since Jan 1, 2018.

Cycles of WiX QA. UX, UI, & Technical review. We won't mention tasks per cycle.

That's the number of developers who have been involved in this project. Thanks to you all

The number of weeks we spent exploring ideas around ecommerce and moving rollover to Weebly.

#100s/1000s

Of minor, bugs, snags of issues in Trello and Asana that we and the team have identified and fixed.

The number of the browser than challenged the brain of the most brilliant developer we have.

`#2.1

With the QA process stretched over such a long period, Rollover 2.1 is basically stacked and ready to roll. Almost.

The number of new effects in our Transition Pack. Which, is a combination of SVG, and motion-blurred PNGS. (This is the best bit of the new, we think)

#600,000

I've lost count of the days i've been working on this

The Rollout of Rollover 2.0, is coming then... only dependancy, is #31
